What is the Romans Road?
Use various verses from the book of Romans to teach God’s plan of salvation for mankind. This is also known as, “The Romans Road.” Romans 1:16 says that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Amen!
The Gospel is the “Good News.” It’s important, however, for people to understand that the good news is “good” because it trumps the bad news. Skipping the “bad news” can make it difficult for people to see they have a need for Jesus or the good news!
I love how “The Romans Road” leads people through the bad news AND the good news.
Romans Road Printable Pack
In this printable pack, you’ll find a scripted teaching page, a printable page {as seen below}, and a printable page that kids can use to fill in the blanks as you teach each part of the road. I hope it’s a blessing to you and your kiddos!
I’m quickly walking you through the Romans Road below. The script in the download goes into much more detail for each point.
1. Romans 3:10-18 & Romans 3:23 ~ These verses teach us God is holy. All people are separated from God because of sin. No one is born as a child of God unless they’re “born again,” as Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3. This is “bad news.”
2. Romans 6:23a ~ The first part of this verse is also “bad news.” Romans 6:23a tells us that the payment for sin is death. This means we {everyone} are separated from a holy and perfect God because of sin.
3. Romans 6:23b & Romans 5:8 ~ The second part of this verse is where the “good news” begins. God did something about our sin and the separation we have from Him. God sent Jesus to live the perfect life we could never live. Jesus died as the payment for our sin. He rose again to prove He had conquered sin and death. Hallelujah! Jesus did all of this while we were still lost in our sin. God made the first move to reconcile man to God.
4. Romans 10:9, 13 ~ Anyone who believes in Jesus’ free gift for their sin should humble themselves by admitting their sin. They should confess, “Jesus is LORD!” God promises that everyone who calls on His Name will be saved…and God keeps His promises.
5. Romans 8:1, 38-39 ~ The good news of salvation keeps going! Those who have believed and accepted Jesus’ payment for their sins will NOT be condemned or separated from God. Because of Jesus, we can spend forever with Him in Heaven. This is the BEST NEWS EVER!
As Colossians 2:6-8 says, let’s raise rooted disciples for Him!
