Today, I’m sharing the direction and vision of this podcast, Bible literacy as well as introducing you to my dear friend, Amy, who will co-host this podcast with me.
Amy and I have studied God’s Word together for several years now. It’s one of our favorite topics to discuss in real life, so I’m excited that you get to “sit in” on our discussions!

While I (Becky) have been sharing resources for homeschoolers and teachers at This Reading Mama for nearly 15 years, I wanted to branch off to focus on my first love: God and His Word.
At first, I (Becky) didn’t think that the Bible and literacy really went together all that much…until I realized that throughout church history, men and women of the faith worked hard and even gave their lives so that God’s Word be read by the people.
This is why we see translations such as The Septuagint, The Vulgate, and The Bishop’s Bible. These translators and scholars desired that the Bible be in the language of the people, so the people could read it for themselves!
Today, we’ll share three components of Bible literacy. There may be more, but these are the ones we brainstormed together. I’m so excited to begin this journey with you!
