Informal Fallacy Posters

Informal logical fallacies are errors in thinking that can lead one to believe faulty conclusions.

In studying logic and informal logical fallacies with my own middle and high school kids, I couldn’t find posters or resources to compliment our curriculum. {I’m sharing some links to books/curricula below.} So, I created some posters and cards for my shop, and I’m sharing four free ones with you today!

FREE Informal Logical Fallacy Posters from Raising Rooted Disciples

The four logical fallacies included in this free download are common logical fallacies.

  1. Ad Hominem ~ Attacking the person who is making the argument or their background instead of dealing with the argument itself.
  2. Quoting Out of Context ~ Quoting someone out of context from what they originally said in a way that distorts their message.
  3. Red Herring ~Interjecting an irrelevant point to distract from the argument itself.
  4. Strawman ~ Creating a false picture of the opposing argument to make it easier to blow or knock down.

Just pull up any social media reel or short and you’ll find plenty of real-life examples of these fallacies. We live in a culture where emotions and sincerity reign supreme. We must teach our kids how to think critically about others’ thinking AND their own thinking! We should be people of the truth.

Note: I cannot be held responsible for the way your tweens and teens will use knowledge of fallacies against you. Trust me; they will! 🙂
