Today, Amy and I are discussing the dangers of reading devotionals on the Read, Do, & Tell Podcast. We are honored that you are listening in (or watching on YouTube).

Episode 32: The Dangers of Reading Devotionals
It’s true that devotionals may be short (they don’t take much time to read) and may even help you understand a concept in the Bible. They can also make you “feel good” about having had a “quiet time” for the day.
BUT (and this is a big but), there are certain dangers. Today, Amy and I are discussing the dangers of only reading Christian devotionals.
We certainly aren’t discounting every devotional out there (although we’d emphatically tell your to STAY AWAY from “Jesus Calling”).
What we are saying is the BIBLE should be a believer’s primary reading source. Everything else we read (including Bible studies) should be tested and judged using God’s Word.
Instead of just telling you about the dangers of devotionals, we’re also offering some advice on what you SHOULD DO instead.
I hope you’ll find this episode challenging AND encouraging!
